Instructions

  1. 1 Separate cheese slices and set aside to soften.
  2. 2 Cut crusts from the bread slices. Flatten bread with a rolling pin.
  3. 3 Place a slice of cheese on each bread slice. Carefully roll up bread and cheese.
  4. 4 Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place roll-ups in skillet seam side down. Cook and turn roll ups until all sides are a golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. 2 Spread half of the bread in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, and remaining bread. Sprinkle with more cinnamon and nutmeg and drizzle with melted butter.
  3. 3 Combine half-and-half, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl until well mixed and pour over bread. Press down on the bread with a fork to make sure it is saturated with the custard.

  1. 1 Butter an 8x8-inch casserole dish.
  2. 2 Use remaining butter to lightly butter bread. Cut each slice in half diagonally. Arrange 1/2 of the bread in the prepared dish. Sprinkle with half of the Swiss cheese, 1/2 of the green onions, 1/2 of the parsley, and 1/2 of the shrimp, in that order. Top with remaining bread and sprinkle with remaining cheese, onions, parsley, and shrimp.

  5. 5 Bake casserole in the preheated oven until puffed and golden, 30 to 40 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.

  1. 1 Whisk half-and-half, 1 egg, sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl until batter is smooth.
  2. 2 Place 2 bread slices on a work surface and top each with 1 slice American cheese, 1 slice Cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon. Top each with a second piece of bread, making a sandwich. Cut a 2-inch hole in the center of each sandwich using a biscuit cutter or 2-inch wide glass.
  3. 3 Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, tilting the skillet to cover entire surface with butter. Dip both sandwich rings and cut-out holes in the batter until evenly coated.

  1. 1 Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch glass baking dish.
  2. 2 Place the potatoes into a large pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and allow to steam dry for a minute or two.
  3. 3 Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook the sausage in the hot oil for 5 minutes. Add the white onions and green onions; cook another 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato, cumin, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. 4 Place the bread cubes in a bowl; pour the milk over the bread making sure to wet each piece.
  5. 5 Arrange about half of the potato slices into the bottom of the prepared dish. Spread the sausage mixture over the potatoes. Top with succeeding layers of the sliced eggs, about half of the moistened bread, the mozzarella cheese, the remaining potato slices, the remaining moistened bread, and finally the Parmesan cheese.

Instructions

  1. 1 Add prawns, water chestnuts, green onions, ginger root, garlic, salt, and sugar to a food processor.
  2. 2 Whisk egg white, cornstarch, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil together in a small bowl and drizzle over the top of the shrimp mixture. Pulse until smooth, but not pureed, into a prawn mousse.
  3. 3 Trim crusts off the bread and equally spread the prawn mousse all the way to the edge of each bread slice. Cut diagonally into 12 halves, and lightly sprinkle with sesame seeds
  4. 4 Add oil to a 10-inch skillet so that it's about 1/2 inch deep, and heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) over medium-high heat. Add 4 of the toasts, prawn-side down, not crowding the pan.
  5. 5 Fry until toast is golden brown, 30 to 45 seconds; flip and cook bread side for another 15 seconds. The toasts cook very quickly, so keep your eye on them. Repeat for next batch.
  6. 6 Transfer to a paper towel-lined rack and serve warm with sweet chili sauce.
