Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Cut slits about 1/4-inch deep in a crossing pattern across the top and along the sides of the Brie wheel. Place the brie in a baking dish.
  3. 3 Bake the Brie in the preheated oven until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. 4 While the Brie bakes, stir the brown sugar, pecans, and whiskey in a small bowl; pour onto the top of the Brie and return to the oven another 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Instructions

  1. 1 Place soy sauce, maple syrup, rye whiskey, and wasabi paste into a blender. Cover blender and puree until smooth. Pour half of the mixture into a resealable plastic bag for marinade and reserve remaining mixture in the refrigerator for dipping sauce. Place salmon in the bag, coat with marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate salmon in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
  2. 2 Submerge cedar planks in water and soak for at least 2 hours.
  3. 3 Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Remove salmon fillets from marinade, and place each one on a soaked cedar plank. Discard bag and marinade.
  4. 4 Place planked salmon into the grill, close cover, and roast until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 10 minutes. Serve with reserved dipping sauce.

  1. 1 Fill a rocks glass with 1 cup ice; set aside to chill, about 5 minutes. Discard ice.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, place Peychaud's bitters, Angostura bitters, and sugar cube in a cocktail shaker; mash well with a cocktail muddler. Add remaining 1 cup ice and whiskey; stir until chilled. Strain into the chilled glass.
  3. 3 Twist lemon peel over surface of cocktail to extract its essence; discard lemon peel.

  1. 1 Place cherries in an old-fashioned glass; splash with bitters. Mash cherries with a cocktail muddler until desired consistency.
  2. 2 Fill a cocktail shaker with ice; add rye, vermouth, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Cover and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain cocktail into glass over cherries.

  1. 1 Place a cocktail glass in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes before making the cocktail.
  2. 2 Pour anise-flavored liqueur into the frosted glass and turn to coat the sides. Dump excess liqueur in the sink (or drink it!).
  3. 3 Add sugar, water, and bitters to the glass, stirring to dissolve. Add ice cubes and rye whiskey. Stir and garnish with a twist of lemon.
