- 1 Bring chicken stock, rice, herbes de Provence, salt, and black pepper to a boil in a medium saucepan; stir together. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid has been absorbed, about 20 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
