Instructions
- 1 Gather all ingredients.
- 2 Stir water and sugar together in a saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick; bring simple syrup to a boil and cook until flavors combine, about 10 minutes.
- 3 Strain simple syrup; discard lemon, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Return simple syrup to the saucepan.
- 4 Stir wine into simple syrup; heat until hot but not boiling, 5 to 10 minutes.
- 5 Serve flecked with nutmeg.
