Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Heat oil in a Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium heat; cook pork in oil until evenly browned on all sides, about 15 minutes. Add beer.
  3. 3 Cover Dutch oven and bake in the preheated oven until pork is very tender, about 2 hours. Shred pork with a fork and transfer Dutch oven back to the stove top; stir in onion.
  4. 4 Cook and stir over medium heat until onion is browned, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  1. 1 Season pork roast all over with salt and pepper and place in a slow cooker. Spread garlic over pork; add carrots, potatoes, onion, and celery to the slow cooker. Pour broth over roast and vegetables.
  2. 2 Cook on High for 2 hours. Baste roast and vegetables with broth cooking liquid; continue cooking on High until tender, 2 hours more. Let rest before slicing, 5 to 10 minutes.

Instructions

  1. 1 Mix beer, mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, cayenne pepper, and salt in a bowl until honey is dissolved. Pour a small amount of the beer marinade into a slow cooker; add pork. Pour remaining marinade over pork. Cover and refrigerate overnight, turning pork occasionally.
  2. 2 Cook pork on Low in the slow cooker for 8 hours, basting occasionally. Add water if the pork becomes dry. Drop onion around pork and continue to cook until pork is very tender, about 2 hours more.
  3. 3 Pull and shred pork with two forks, discarding any pieces of fat. Transfer pork to a serving dish. Skim remaining onion from the slow cooker using a sieve and add to pork.

  1. 1 Place 1/2 of the Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 of the garlic pepper into the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast into the cooker, and drizzle with remaining Worcestershire. Sprinkle remaining garlic pepper over the roast. Add onion and chile peppers; pour in chicken broth.
  2. 2 Cover and cook on Low until roast is tender enough to pull apart with a fork, 8 to 10 hours.
  3. 3 Add beans and salsa and continue cooking until heated through, 30 to 45 minutes.
