Instructions

  1. 1 In a 2-quart jar dissolve sugar in vodka. Pour in blueberries and cover the jar.
  2. 2 Store in cool, dark place for 2 months (refrigerator is okay). Occasionally shake gently. Strain and serve in cordial glasses, or if you prefer, over ice.

  1. 1 Mash thawed blueberries in a bowl with a fork; transfer to a sterlized 1-quart jar. Add lemon zest and cloves, then pour in vodka. Seal the jar and let age in a cool, dark place for 3 months, shaking the jar gently every few days.
  2. 2 After 3 months, strain and discard blueberries. Filter through cheesecloth into another sterilized 1-quart jar. Pour in simple syrup, seal the jar tightly with the lid, and shake until syrup has dissolved. Let age in a cool, dark place for at least 1 more month.
  3. 3 Filter liquid through cheesecloth again. Pour into decorative bottles.

Instructions

  1. 1 To make blueberry vodka: Pour about 1/3 of the bottle of vodka into a holding container; set aside. Score each blueberry with a small nick and place into the vodka bottle. Fill the vodka bottle with reserved vodka until just below the neck. Add just enough raspberry liqueur to top off the bottle. Let sit in a dark place for 2 weeks.
  2. 2 To make martini: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 parts blueberry vodka, 1 part raspberry liqueur, and a dash of lime juice to the shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Garnish with twist of lime zest.

  1. 1 Bring blueberries, water, sugar, and ginger to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, crushing the blueberries occasionally with a masher. Remove from heat and let cool, about 10 minutes. Pass the mixture through a food mill or fine mesh sieve to remove the skins of the blueberries. Set aside 1/4 cup syrup and store the remainder in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  2. 2 Place crushed ice in a glass. Add reserved blueberry-ginger syrup and orange juice. Top off with club soda and stir to combine. Garnish with orange slice.

  2. 2 Blend the blueberries, 1/2 cup water, and the lemon juice in a blender until smooth; pour into a pitcher. Remove the basil leaves from the simple-syrup mixture; discard the basil. Stir the syrup into the blueberry mixture. Add the carbonated water to the mixture and stir gently.
