  1. 1 Make the sauce by mixing together the yogurt, curry powder, sugar and oil in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
  2. 2 Peel and cut the onion into 1 inch cubes. Thread skewers alternating lamb cubes, onion dried apricot halves. Place them into a large resealable bag and pour in the sauce. Make sure the kabobs are evenly well coated. Refrigerate and allow to marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  3. 3 Preheat grill to medium heat and lightly oil grate.
  4. 4 Grill the kabobs over medium coals for 8 to 10 minutes on each side, or to your desired doneness.

  1. 1 Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat; cook meat until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Add pureed tomatoes, garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Set aside.

Remove meat from the saucepan and place on top of the orzo. Pour tomato sauce evenly over meat. Add hot water. Cover with aluminum foil.
  4. 4 Bake in the preheated oven until all water is absorbed and orzo is soft, about 1 hour. If the dish becomes too dry, add more water during baking.

  1. 1 Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from the pan and strain excess oil.
  2. 2 Carefully wipe any excess oil from the pan; be careful as the oil will still be hot. Add lamb and ground beef and cook and stir until cooked through, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard grease.

  1. 1 In a large skillet over medium high heat, fry the bacon for 5 to 10 minutes, or until well browned. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside. In small batches, saute the meat in the bacon fat until browned. Use a slotted spoon and set the stew meats aside as well.
  2. 2 Melt the butter in the bacon fat in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the flour, caraway seeds, paprika and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir for two minutes until all the flour is dissolved. Whisk in the vinegar and tomato. The mixture should be very thick.
  3. 3 Next, pour in the beef stock, beer, salt, water, red bell peppers, reserved bacon and reserved meat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir in the potatoes, parsnip, celery and carrots and continue to simmer, covered, for 30 more minutes, or until all vegetables are tender.
  4. 4 Stir in the breadcrumbs until stew has thickened. Add the cabbage and peas and simmer for 5 more minutes. (Note: For best results, allow soup to cool slightly, then refrigerate overnight and reheat before serving.)

  1. 1 Season lamb with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.

Cook the lamb meat in batches until browned on all sides, using additional oil as necessary, about 3 minutes per batch. Set aside.   1. 1 Preheat the oven's broiler and set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
