Instructions

  1. 1 Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on 2 slices of bread. Crumble a small amount of smoked salmon over 1 slice. sandwich. Seal up and carefully trim off crust. Cut crustless sandwich in half. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

  1. 1 In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cheese and sauerkraut. Add enough dressing to coat, and mix thoroughly.
  2. 2 Butter each slice of bread on one side. Spread a thick layer of the cheese mixture onto unbuttered side of half of the bread slices. Top with sliced tomato and another slice of bread.
  3. 3 Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat. Fry sandwiches on both sides until the outside is toasted and the cheese is melted.

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  2. 2 Pat out three 1/3-pound hamburger patties, pressing each patty down with your index and middle fingers to get a nice, flat burger instead of a ball. Season patties on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. 3 Cook on the preheated grill until no longer pink in the centers, 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  4. 4 Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Increase heat to medium-low, add onion, and saute until tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. 5 Place 3 slices of bread on the grill. Top each with a slice of American cheese, a cooked patty, sauteed onions, a slice of Swiss cheese, and the remaining bread. Grill sandwiches until cheese melts, about 1 minute per side.

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. 2 Mix together Thousand island dressing, sour cream, and onion in a medium bowl until well combined.
  3. 3 Arrange dark and light rye bread cubes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, reserving about 1/2 cup each for topping. Top bread cubes with corned beef and sauerkraut. Spread dressing mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle with Swiss cheese, top with reserved bread cubes, and drizzle with melted margarine.
  4. 4 Bake, covered, in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until bubbly and lightly browned, about 10 minutes more.

Instructions

  1. 1 Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, cook and stir until lightly browned. Sprinkle in the sugar, and continue cooking until onions are deep golden brown, about 10 minutes. Stir in the chicken broth and vinegar and season with paprika. Mix in the bread until dissolved. Bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 3 minutes.
  2. 2 Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor, and blend until smooth. Serve with pork or beef.
