Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Place the potatoes into a saucepan and fill with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook for 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and mash with margarine and milk until fairly smooth.
  3. 3 Meanwhile, crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell pepper. Cook and stir until beef is browned; drain excess fat.
  4. 4 Place the beef and onion mixture into the bottom of the pie shell, pour the cream-style corn over it. Spread mashed potatoes to cover the top of the pie.
  5. 5 Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the pie crust and potatoes are golden brown.

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. 2 Crumble ground beef into a large skillet. Saute over medium heat 1 minute, then add onion and green pepper. Continue to saute until onion begins to brown, about 5 minutes. Mix in 1/2 cup tomato sauce, bread crumbs, and seasoning salt. Spoon mixture into pastry shell.
  3. 3 In a medium bowl, mix together cheese, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and white pepper. Spread mixture over meat filling. Cover edges of crust with strips of aluminum foil.
  4. 4 Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, until topping is puffy and lightly browned. Allow to set 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Make garnish sauce by mixing together 1/2 cup tomato sauce and cocktail sauce. Garnish each slice of pie with a spoonful of sauce.

  2. 2 Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir pork and beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
  3. 3 Mix together cooked meat, mashed potatoes, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
  4. 4 Line a 9-inch pie dish with 1 pastry crust. Spoon meat mixture into crust. Cover with second pastry crust; seal and flute the edges. Brush top crust with beaten egg white. Shield the edges with aluminum foil to prevent crust from burning.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and continue baking until edges brown, about 15 minutes more.
