Instructions

  1. 1 Rinse fillets; pat dry with paper towels.
  2. 2 Mix together soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and fresh ginger in a medium bowl. Place fillets into marinade and let stand for at least 20 minutes.
  3. 3 Preheat the oven broiler or an outdoor grill for high heat.
  4. 4 Cook fillets in the preheated broiler, basting occasionally, until fish flakes easily with a fork, 5 to 8 minutes.

  2. 2 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking pan with vegetable oil.
  3. 3 Place mackerel fillets in the baking pan; season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4 Mix butter, lemon juice, and paprika together in a bowl. Pour over mackerel fillets.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven until fish flakes easily with a fork, 20 to 25 minutes.
