Instructions

  1. 1 Arrange onion slices on a plate and drizzle vinegar over top. Divide beef into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch thick patty. Season patties with salt and pepper.
  2. 2 Heat a large grill pan over medium heat. Coat the pan with cooking spray and add onion. Cover and cook for 6 minutes, flipping halfway. Remove from pan, cover, and keep warm.
  3. 3 Heat the grill pan over medium-high heat. Coat with more cooking spray and add patties. Cook until no longer pink in the centers, about 3 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C). Remove patties to a plate, drain and discard any grease, and wipe the pan clean with a paper towel.
  4. 4 Spread Dijon-mayonnaise blend evenly over all bread slices. Layer 4 of the slices with 2 tablespoons Jarlsberg cheese, 1 beef patty, 2 onion slices, and 2 tablespoons Jarlsberg. Place remaining bread slices mustard-side down on top of the sandwiches.
  5. 5 Heat the grill pan over medium heat and coat with cooking spray. Add sandwiches to the pan and place a cast iron or other heavy skillet on top, pressing gently to flatten sandwiches. Cook until bread is toasted, about 3 minutes per side, leaving the skillet on top as they cook.

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 2-quart casserole dish.
  2. 2 Place torn rye bread into a food processor and pulse several times to make crumbs; combine rye crumbs with panko crumbs in a bowl and set aside.
  3. 3 Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain noodles and set aside.
  4. 4 Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir onion until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper; stir in brown mustard. Remove from heat, stir in flour until smooth, and gradually whisk in milk. Sauce will thicken. Whisk 1 1/2 cup Swiss cheese into the sauce, stirring until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Stir sauerkraut with about 1 tablespoon of reserved juice and corned beef into the cheese sauce.
  5. 5 Transfer cooked noodles to the prepared casserole dish and pour in the sauce; stir to combine. Sprinkle remaining 1 1/2 cup Swiss cheese in an even layer over the top.
  6. 6 Bake casserole in the preheated oven until bubbling, about 20 minutes. Remove casserole from oven and set the oven to broil.
  7. 7 Stir 3 tablespoons melted butter into the reserved rye and panko crumbs until thoroughly combined and sprinkle top of casserole with rye crumb mixture. Return to oven and broil until the crumbs are golden brown, about 2 more minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.

  1. 1 Cover 1 side of each bread slice thoroughly and generously with butter; set aside.
  2. 2 Mix ground beef, pepper, salt, and onion powder together in a bowl until thoroughly combined, but do not overmix or meat will not have the proper consistency after it is cooked. Form 3 patties to fit the shape of the bread.
  3. 3 Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip, making sure patties do not break, and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low, and cook until no longer pink in the centers, about 5 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  4. 4 While the burgers are cooking, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, bacon bits, relish, and sugar for sauce in a small bowl. Stir until mayonnaise and ketchup are well binded.
  5. 5 Heat another large skillet over medium-low heat. Place 1 slice bread in the skillet, buttered-side down. Top with 2 slices Cheddar cheese, a cooked patty, and 2 slices provolone cheese. Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a pie pan.
  2. 2 In a bowl, mix cornmeal and water and allow to stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk the whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Whisk the egg and vegetable oil into the wet cornmeal; stir the wet ingredients into the flour mixture until just combined and pour into the prepared pie pan.
  3. 3 Bake the cornbread in the preheated oven until lightly browned and a knife inserted into the center of the cornbread comes out clean, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
  4. 4 Reduce oven heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  5. 5 Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crisp, about 6 minutes per side; drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Crumble the bacon when cool. Stir the onion, garlic, celery, red bell pepper, poultry seasoning, sage, and oregano into the bacon drippings left in the skillet; cook and stir until the onion is translucent, about 10 minutes.
  6. 6 Remove cooled cornbread from the pie pan and cut into small cubes; place into a large bowl and mix in the rye bread cubes. Stir the bacon and cooked vegetables into the stuffing until well combined; drizzle the chicken broth into the dressing, stirring to evenly moisten the bread cubes.
  7. 7 Rinse the turkey inside and out and pat dry with paper towels. Place turkey into a large roasting pan with a lid. Fill the body and neck cavities loosely with stuffing, folding the neck skin over the stuffing and securing in place with toothpicks. Place any leftover stuffing onto a large square of aluminum foil and fold and seal the edges to enclose the stuffing. Refrigerate stuffing packet until about 45 minutes before serving time.
  8. 8 Place the turkey in the oven, and roast until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 180 degrees F (80 degrees C), 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Remove lid after about 2 1/2 hours to brown skin. Baste occasionally with pan drippings. About 45 minutes before serving, bake the extra stuffing if desired.
