  1. 1 Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Crush 3 cloves of garlic and 2 pieces of ginger, and place them into the cavity of the chicken. Tie green onions into a knot, and place them into the chicken along with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Carefully submerge chicken breast-side down into the water.
  2. 2 Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let stand covered for 40 minutes, turning chicken over half way through.
  3. 3 While chicken is cooking, heat vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Fry shallots, ginger, and garlic in oil until fragrant. Add cilantro and rice, and cook, stirring until toasted. Pour in chicken stock and season with salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer until rice is tender and steam holes appear in the surface of the rice, about 20 minutes.
  4. 4 When chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot, and place under cold running water to tighten the skin; rub the skin with sesame oil and chop chicken into pieces. Place chicken pieces on a serving platter, and garnish with cilantro, green onion, cucumber and tomato. Serve with rice.

  1. 1 Combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, grapeseed oil, sesame oil, canola oil, ginger, sugar, garlic, and black pepper in a blender; blend until smooth. Place dressing in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. 2 Slice each chicken breast down through the center to split breasts into 6 pieces. Place chicken and teriyaki marinade into a gallon-sized zip-top bag. Seal the bag tightly and shake until chicken is completely coated with marinade. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  3. 3 Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook thin spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 6 minutes. Drain pasta, rinse with cold water, drain again, and place in the refrigerator until ready to assemble salad.
  4. 4 Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  5. 5 Remove chicken from the marinade and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  6. 6 Place chicken on the preheated grill and cook until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 6 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Remove to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice into even strips.
  7. 7 Place cold pasta in a large mixing bowl. Add tomato, bell pepper, broccoli florets, salt, and black pepper. Add chilled dressing and mix well with tongs. Serve pasta on a plate and sprinkle with chow mein noodles. Place chicken strips and snow peas on the side. Garnish with chile-garlic sauce and cilantro sprig.

  1. 1 Generously season beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  2. 2 Heat a large skillet over high heat; add vegetable oil. When oil is hot, brown roast on all sides, about 2 minutes per side. Remove pan from heat.

  7. 7 Cover slow cooker and set to Low. Cook until fork tender, 7 to 8 hours.
  8. 8 Remove meat from the broth. If desired, skim some fat from the surface of the broth.
  9. 9 Place potatoes and bok choy into the broth; stir. Cover and turn heat to high. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 12 minutes.
  10. 10 Blend cornstarch and water in a small dish until dissolved. Stir into broth mixture.
  11. 11 Cut meat into large chunks and add to the slow cooker; stir. Cover slow cooker and cook on high until meat is heated through and broth is slightly thickened, about 12 minutes.
  12. 12 Ladle into serving bowls and garnish with chopped peanuts and cilantro.
