Instructions
- 1 Gather the ingredients.
- 2 Bring water and salt to a boil in a small saucepan; add pearl onions and cook until just tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup water in the saucepan; return onions to the pan and add butter.
- 3 Whisk milk and quick-mixing flour together in a small bowl until smooth; add to the onion mixture. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in more quick-mixing flour, 1 teaspoon at a time, if the mixture is too thin.
- 4 Season with additional salt to taste and serve hot. Enjoy!
