Instructions
- 1 Gather all ingredients.
- 2 Bring water and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Whisk in grits; continue to whisk for 1 minute.
- 3 When the mixture comes to a boil again, turn the heat to low. Stir frequently, cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 4 Remove grits from the heat and add cheese, butter, and pepper; mix well.
- 5 Stir until butter and cheese are melted.
