Instructions

  1. 1 Gather the ingredients.
  2. 2 Place ground beef, 1/2 of the cilantro, 1/2 of the onion, garlic, garlic salt, and onion powder in a bowl. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper; mix gently until combined. Form meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  3. 3 Coat a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray; warm over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs in the hot skillet until browned all over. Transfer meatballs to a plate and set aside. (Meatballs do not need to be fully cooked since they will finish cooking in the soup.)

  5. 5 Pour chicken broth into the pot with onions. Stir in carrots, celery, and potatoes. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are nearly tender, about 15 minutes.

Instructions

  1. 1 Add sliced onions to a saucepan over medium heat and add just enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook just enough to soften. Remove from heat and drain. Rinse with cold water and drain.
  2. 2 Score tomato with an X, skin deep, on the top and bottom. Place in the same saucepan used for the onions and add enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook until soft and the skin starts to peel, about 5 minutes. Remove tomato and rinse under cold water until cool enough to hold in your hand. Using your fingers or the blade of a knife, gently peel off the skin. Place peeled tomato in a blender and purée.
  3. 3 Combine onions, lemon juice, and olive oil in a large glass dish or bowl. Stir in oysters, puréed tomato, diced tomato, green onions, ketchup, and soy sauce. Season with parsley, garlic salt, sugar, and salt to taste.
  4. 4 Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes if using canned oysters. Increase marinating time to at least 2 hours in the refrigerator if using raw shrimp, scallops, or fish, until they are opaque in the middle.

Prep
15 min
Cook

35 min

Instructions

  1. 1 Sprinkle garlic salt on both sides of the pork chops. The garlic salt should pretty well cover the chops. Don't be skimpy, but at the same time, don't put on too much.
  2. 2 Pour a little olive oil or other cooking oil into a skillet. Put the pork chops in the frying pan and sprinkle fennel seeds on top of the pork chops: 10 to 15 fennel seeds per pork chop will probably do. Let the underside of the pork chop brown then turn over. Once both sides are browned, flip again.
  3. 3 Pour the wine into frying pan; cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 10 minutes and flip the pork chops over. Cover them again and let them simmer for another 10 minutes. Make sure the wine doesn't completely evaporate or the pork chops will burn. You may have to add a little more wine or water to the pan.
