Instructions

  1. 1 Place cream cheese and butter in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar into butter mixture. Slowly beat in flour; mix well. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  2. 2 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  3. 3 Roll out chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness on a well-floured board. Use a pizza wheel to cut dough into 36 (2 1/2-inch) squares.
  4. 4 Spoon about 2 teaspoons filling in the center of each square; do not overfill. Fold opposite corners of each square into the middle to encase dough, pinching dough together in center. Filling should peek out a little at each end. Transfer cookies to an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven until set but not brown, about 12 minutes. Remove to racks to cool. Dust cooled kolacky with 1/4 cup powdered sugar.

Instructions

  1. 1 Combine butter and cream cheese in a large bowl until well blended. I like to use my hands, but you can also use a wooden spoon. Mix in flour, 1 cup at a time. As dough becomes stiff, turn out onto the counter; knead in flour until no longer sticky. Continue to knead dough for 5 minutes.
  2. 2 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. 3 Pulse walnuts in the bowl of a food processor to a fine consistency. Pulse in honey and egg. Set aside.
  4. 4 Transfer dough to a well-floured surface; roll out to 1/4-inch thick. Cut dough into 3x3-inch squares. Place 1 teaspoon filling in center of each square. Use walnut for some and poppyseed for the rest. Roll squares up and seal the edges. These can also be formed into triangles. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Brush with egg white.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, 15 to 17 minutes. When cool, dust with confectioners' sugar.

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 In a medium bowl, blend the butter and cream cheese together. Sift together the flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar and baking powder. Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Knead dough by hand for a few turns.
  3. 3 On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. If dough is too sticky, refrigerate for 1/2 an hour. Cut dough with a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass. Place about 1/2 teaspoon of the preserves into the center of each circle. Close cookies by folding circles in half and pressing the edges with a fork to seal. Place cookies onto an unprepared cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
  4. 4 In a small bowl, stir together the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar with the cinnamon. Roll cookies in the sugar mixture while they are still warm from the oven.
