Instructions
- 1 Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook sausage until brown and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl with a slotted spoon.
- 2 Pour sausage drippings into a measuring cup; add enough butter to equal 1 cup. Pour into the skillet over medium heat.
- 3 Sauté celery and onions in butter mixture until onion is tender; do not brown.
- 4 Stir in 1/3 of the bread cubes.
- 5 Transfer mixture to the bowl with sausage. Add remaining 2/3 bread cubes, poultry seasoning, and pepper; mix well.
