Instructions

  1. 1 Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add walnuts and drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Cook and stir frequently until walnuts smell toasted and are lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer walnuts to a plate to cool. Reserve 2 or 3 to coarsely chop and use for garnish.
  2. 2 Place the skillet over medium heat; add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Sprinkle in bread crumbs; cook and stir frequently until crumbs turn golden brown, 3 or 4 minutes. Remove from heat and sprinkle onto plate with walnuts.
  3. 3 Place peppers in bowl of a food processor. Add walnuts, toasted bread crumbs, garlic, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, salt, paprika, Aleppo pepper flakes, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Drizzle with remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil.
  4. 4 Pulse on and off, scraping mixture down occasionally, until mixture is fairly fine and smooth. Transfer to a bowl; cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
  5. 5 Transfer to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to swirl indentations on the surface to capture the garnishes. Garnish with reserved chopped walnuts, a drizzle of olive oil, pepper flakes, and chopped parsley.

Instructions

  1. 1 Place stale bread in a shallow dish just large enough to tightly fit the slices in one layer.
  2. 2 Whisk eggs, salt, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne, and heavy cream for batter together in a bowl and pour over bread slices. Use tongs to toss to coat evenly. If there's excess batter pooling at the bottom of the dish, spoon it over the top of the bread slices.
  3. 3 Wrap and refrigerate until bread has absorbed all the batter or is fully saturated, 2 to 12 hours.
  4. 4 To make the honey syrup, combine honey, water, chili flakes, and salt in a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Stir and bring to a simmer, then cook for 30 seconds. Turn off the heat and reserve until needed.
  5. 5 Remove bread from the refrigerator and press sliced feta into the top of each piece; about 2 tablespoons feta should almost cover the surface of each piece.
  6. 6 Heat butter and olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place in the bread, cheese-side down. Cook until the cheese has caramelized and the surface is well browned, 3 to 5 minutes. Turn the slices over, reduce heat to medium, and cook the other side until golden brown.
  7. 7 Serve immediately with the honey syrup spooned over top.

Instructions

  1. 1 Combine shrimp, olive oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and Aleppo pepper flakes in a bowl; toss to coat shrimp completely in oil and spices.
  2. 2 Heat a large skillet over high heat until very hot. Cook shrimp in a single layer in the hot skillet until the bottoms are browned, about 2 minutes. Turn shrimp and cook until browned on the other side, about 1 minute more. Transfer shrimp to a clean bowl.
  3. 3 Heat the same skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion with a pinch of salt in the hot skillet until onions are slightly golden and translucent, 2 to 4 minutes. Add garlic and oregano; cook and stir until fragrant, 15 to 30 seconds. Pour white wine into onions; bring to a boil while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon.
  4. 4 Add crushed tomatoes and lower heat to medium-low. Cook and stir until tomato mixture thickens and flavors blend, 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. 5 Return shrimp to the skillet along with any accumulated juices in the bowl. Cook until shrimp are reheated, 2 to 4 minutes. Stir parsley and basil into sauce; season with salt, red pepper flakes, and Aleppo pepper flakes.
